So, if you or anyone you know wants to do a shoot (with their significant other) let me know!

You have to be willing to go over dress and props with me. And I might make you do silly things (nothing bad, just silly).

I don't care about age, married or not married, or body shape or sexual orientation. I just want a couple who really loves each other and that are wanting to get some pics done!

No sitting fee for the session.

I literally was with the Davis family for like 10 minutes. Two different poses.. but about 20 pictures. :) It takes a few shots to get all the dogs looking at the same time!

We turned this photo into a 5x7 Christmas Card. {Simple, but cute!}

Hold camera with one hand.. raise other hand and whistle and snap! Best way to get a dogs attention! :)

Something New from Something Old

I thought I'd start doing something new on here.. I'm still doing photography (because it's fun and I love it!) but I have been doing SO many crafts lately too! You see, my husband and I are building a new home (AND our first home!) and he challenged me to *Furnish and Decorate the whole home with only $3k (3 bedrooms, 2.5 bath, living room, family room, kitchen/dinning room). I took him up on it! (*We do already have some furniture of our own, but very limited)

So now, thrift stores and I are best friends. We spend a lot of time together. Other good friends of mine are the clearance sections at department stores and the KSL classifieds.

I am going to start posting some How To's on here, because I am just LOVING it! And I must say, my crafts have been turning out great! (I don't mean to toot my own horn, but... toot! toot!)

Simple White Frames for a Family Portrait Wall

{Items Needed}

Used Frames . White (or color of choice) Spray Paint . Plastic Trash Bags . Sandpaper

{1} First is to pick out frames at a thrift store. You have to be open and look past the horrible print, the sticky stuff, and the dirt. See the beauty of the wood or the decorative design!

Pick the sizes you are needing for your wall. The best thing to do is to plan your wall before. Think of what sizes you are wanting for your portraits. Do you want an 11 x 14 for the center portrait and then 5 x 7's around it?? Or maybe you are wanting just a bunch of different sizes and place them randomly on your wall! This is what I picked to do, so I just found odd and interesting sizes at the thrift store.

{2} Second, you remove the backing and glass from the frames and set aside. Take the frames to an open outside area. Lay trash bags out on a solid surface (tape down if you are worried about the bag being blown up on frames). Place the frames a few inches apart from each other on the plastic.

{3} Follow your Spray Paint instructions and apply to your frames

{4} Spray frames evenly and allow to dry. (Usually each frame will only need one coat of paint)

{5} Next, sand your frames just a bit. Just enough to make them look distressed or Shabby. (I didn't take a picture of this step! Dang!)

{6} Enjoy your finish product!!

I love my frames! And I CAN'T WAIT to hang them up! And to think.. All of these frames for about $9! Can you believe it?

Now, go out! Be crafty!

The Leavitt's and I braved the rain on Saturday and took some pictures down at the Provo Library. I must say, the lighting was perfect and it turned out to be a great shoot! Noah and Ellie were beautiful models, as usual. :)

What a CRAZY, but GREAT summer! Finally my life is slowing down and I can get back to business!
Although it was a crazy, wild summer I still kept up with my photography, thanks to friends! I have also been studding different STYLES and TECHNIQUES for my pictures. I'll always keep my personal touch, just different POSES and LOCATIONS.

Welcome to my new blog for my photography! I've decided to make a blog dedicated solely to my work. I started out doing photography, because my sister had just had her second child and wanted to get her pictures taken. My sister and I looked into some places but found their work to be either cheesy or over priced. That's when I decided I could do just as good of job as them or better! So, we got out the point and shoot camera and snapped some awesome pictures (it doesn't hurt that I've had 7 years experience with Photoshop to make those pictures look WOW!). I got SO many responses and compliments I just kept going. Soon, I started buying more and more things and reading every book I could get my hands on for my new hobby.
If you are interested in booking a session or buying a print, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm available Fridays and Saturdays at the moment. And my cost is $50 for a session.
I do come to either an indoor or outdoor destination of your choice (if further than 20 miles, gas will be added to the cost of the session). I bring backdrops and some props with me. But, feel free to include any of your own personal belongings. I take about 80-100 pictures (Depending on the type of session) and then edit the majority of them. I then give you the CD with all photos on it, including the unedited photos.
